About John Bradley

John Bradley was born in Sydney in 1945.

Drawing and painting since early childhood, Bradley developed a deep kinship with the Australian countryside during summer holidays in Narrabri, Glen Innes, Kurrajong and the mid-north coast of New South Wales.

Largely self taught, Bradley has not been influenced by a particular Australian painter, but admits to having a high regard for the late Sir Hans Heysen with whom he shares a deep feeling for Central Australia.

His subject matter ranges from the harsh outback regions to the verdant coastal scenery of Eastern Australia.

In 1982 Bradley became a professional artist/teacher, after having followed a series of diverse occupations, and his works are represented in several private and corporate collections in Australia and overseas.
